Captain Eric R. Johnson, USN

Director

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota and a 1992 graduate of the University of St. Thomas. CAPT Eric R. Johnson holds a Master of Science degree from Syracuse University in Information Management, a Masters of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, a Federal Chief Information Officer certificate, and is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and Space Cadre. He was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 1995 and an Information Professional in 2002.

His sea duty and theater tours include Patrol Squadron EIGHT (VP-8), where he deployed three times to multiple locations globally as a naval aviator, International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF), Headquarters Afghanistan serving as the Combined Joint Communication and Information Systems (CIS) Deputy Director of Operations, and Carrier Strike Group TWELVE aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65) deployed to the Arabian Gulf as the Deputy N6 and Battle Watch Captain.

Ashore, he served as the Operations Officer for Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility Jacksonville, Chief Information Officer at BUPERS Sea Duty Component, Deputy Director, CIS/N6 Directorate, Commander, U.S. SECOND Fleet, Deputy Director Global SATCOM Support Center, U.S. Cyber Command and the Chief, Cyberspace Current Operations Division, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S Northern Command.

His leadership tours include Executive Officer, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Bahrain; Officer in Charge, Afloat Communications aboard USS Wasp (LHD-1); Chief Staff Officer, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific, Wahiawa, Hawaii; Commanding Officer, Joint Interoperability Test Command and DISA Test & Evaluation Executive, Ft. Huachuca, Arizona; Chief of Staff, Naval Information Forces, Suffolk, Virginia; and Director, Joint Warfare Analysis Center, Dahlgren, Virginia.

His military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various campaign and service medals.
